technical projects

introduction

As a level designer, I must be able to turn my ideas into prototypes, which requires technical knowledge and skills. Therefore, despite technical aspects of level design not being my strong suit, I work on becoming better at it one project at a time. I enjoy a challenge and a puzzle which is what technical design feels like for me. The systems I create might not be complex, however, they teach me a lot and make me more competent in the engine.

 01 

 Tomb Raider puzzle kit 

I created this system as a university assignment while learning pre-production. I got the inspiration for the kit from the Shadow of The Tomb Raider. I studied the puzzles and the components from the game and applied them in my project, trying to imitate the reference as closely as I could.

 02 

 Building system 

In this project I created a simple building system, THe project was part of my self-study during other university work. I modelled and textured all the building meshes taking inspiration from The Hobbit movies' and Return To Moria's dwarven architecture.

 03 

 Moving platforms 

As part of the first bigger game project I created in the university, I made a few moving platform level ingredients: flipping, rotating, moving, and swinging platforms. On top of that, I created the first level of the game which was the first platformer level I have worked on.
